With 17 years of experience in the fields of communications, politics and national defense, John Ullyot is Senior Vice President, Media Relations and Issues Management, based in Hill & Knowlton’s Washington office. He also directs the office’s public affairs and crisis communications practices.

John serves as a senior media strategist and counselor, engaging media for the benefit of local and global clients, and addressing public affairs, crisis, and reputation management needs for clients across a range of sectors both in the US and abroad.

Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, John served as director of communications and a deputy chief of staff for five-term U.S. Senator John W. Warner of Virginia, providing strategic counsel and policy guidance on a wide range of issues, most particularly defense and national security initiatives.

A graduate of Harvard University, John is a former intelligence officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He speaks French, German and Russian.
